‘Rural Disease’ and Its Countermeasures in China

Abstract:‘Rural disease’ as well as ‘urban disease’ has emerged in the process of urbanization in China. ‘Rural disease’ has the following symptoms as ‘vacant villages’, the aging and weakening of population, insufficient public facilities and pauperization, etc. The emergence of ‘rural disease’ is a historical inevitability which should be understood in a sensible way. The governance on‘rural disease’ should take time dimension into considerations, and various countermeasures should be proposed specific to different regions and conditions.
