Abstract：This article takes Da Bu county as an instance, to analyze the settlement location and distribution model which is formed by the topography, water system and sunlight, through the survey database and spatial analysis. The main conclusion is that natural environment controls the settlement morphology indirectly through its direct influence on the farmland resource.
