Research on Urban Design that Emphasizes on Development Strategies:A Case Study on Urban Design of the New City of Cangzhou

Abstract：Urban design is in dispute for its physical orientated attribution. This paper analyzes the existing problems in urban design and addresses the urban design methodology that emphasizes on development strategies, which is a logical approach: problem identification-strategy development-preliminary study and spatial-structure framework. Furthermore, this paper elaborates on the application of this urban design methodology in a real project which is the new city of Cangzhou.
