Interview With Koji Taki:Remembering Kazuo Shinohara
Abstract：This dialogue transcript was published as the intro article in the periodical ka031 (2007) run by Department of Architecture and Building Engineering in Tokyo Institute of Technology, in commemorating Kazuo Shinohara. Kazunari Sakamoto, a former member of Shinohara Lab and a professor in Tokyo Institute of Technology at that time, had once engaged a special conversation with cultural historian Koji Taki, which unfolded around several interesting topics specified by the editor: such as, “the first meeting with Kazuo Shinohara”, “what does it mean to see / think about Kazuo Shinohara?”,“how to evoke the irrationality of human being”, “as an unorthodox modernist”,“from semantic analysis to compositional analysis”, “the certainty / uncertainty of things”, “an evolving formalism”, “what Shinohara has or has not thought about”.
