Preliminary Study of Space and Landscape Characteristics of Tuanjie Town (the Birthplace of Sarah's Family)

Abstract：In China, Xunhua is the only town where the Sarah ethnic people, all having the same Islamic faith, reside in. Religion plays an important role in the daily lives of the Sarah people, and because of this, heavily impacts the design and planning of the area, resulting in the unique urban space and landscape. Using the Sarah case study, this article attempts to reflect on current urban design theories and methodologies.
