Post-occupancy Evaluation for Commercial Complex Space in Urban Rail Transit

Abstract: Junctions for railway traffic have the highest flow intensity, density and turnover frequency, with a commercial advantage which other nodes do not have. Relying on railway traffic site for business development is the key of city commercial development. Meanwhile, turning traffic flow to commercial flow is a subject worthy of further study. This article is based on the theory of post-occupancy evaluation. From the user's point of view, this article evaluates the construction of Beijing Metro junction's commercial space,s using effectiveness. Combined with evaluation results, this article analyzes the outstanding problems and severe shortage of subway commercial development. Then, the optimization design recommendations are proposed in order to enhance the attractiveness of subway commerce and to prompt subway passenger flow,s turning to commercial traffic.
