Local Architectural Characteristics Protection and Enhancement in Nantong

Abstract： Historical architecture has distinctive characteristics in Nantong, but these characteristics have gradually faded away during Jianghai development era. This paper proposes some key opinions based on historical town protection: using protection zones to enhance the built environment's characteristics, old town protection based on collective memory, building reuse based on historical evolution, and local characteristic enhancement based new architecture's reflection on local culture.
