The Analysis of the Architectural Characteristics of Yao' s Ancestral Hall in Xuanhan county, Dazhou city
Abstract：The ancestral temple, which was a product of patriarchal system, was not only worship space of the ancestor, but also a place for the whole family to deal with affairs. The unique shape of ancestral temple, caused by its functions, appears particularly prominent in a residential complex. The Yao ancestral hall analyzed in this article was built by the early Qing Dynasty immigrants, and kept its architectural form intact. Through the survey and mapping, we can better understand the architecture characteristics of Sichuan clan ancestral temples, as well as their social and cultural backgrounds.
