From Pattern to Strategies: the Study on the Ideal City
Abstract：In 2011, Guangdong Government proposed a new goal of building a civilized and livable ideal city. The Ideal City has always been a dream of human being. Based on the previous theories and practices, the paper summarizes the ideal city model from the macro, medium and micro scale, analyzes the former concepts and the existing problems on the development of the current Chinese cities compared with the Ideal City model. It discusses the potential way of constructing it through refined plan by means of John Friedman's idea about the Chinese urban development
