The research progress of acoustic diffuser and surface scattering
Abstract：The development of acoustic diffuser from the 1960s is summarized. The typical diffusers and its acoustics scattering characteristics are demonstrated. Then the paper states how the scattering property of a diffuser could be defined and measured. The initial investigations on the effect of surface scattering on room acoustics are introduced. In the end a series of questions relating to sound diffusion that need further investigated are pointed out.
