Urban Design of Central Waterfront Area for Mining City New Town：An Example of the Successful Programs in Weiyi Road Area in New Town of Pingdingshan
Abstract：As an old mining city, Pingdingshan’s landscape quality is poor. During the process of urban transition, the development and construction of the central waterfront of Pingdingshan is hoped to promote its industrial restructuring, and to enhance the quality of its environment. This paper discusses the significance of central waterfront’s development, studies the planning and design methods of the areas of this kind, and finally summaries some good practices.
