Research of Urban and Rural Architecture in Western Part of China：Experiences in the National Key Laboratory of Western Architecture ＆ Technology
Abstract：This paper introduces experiences from the construction of the National Key Laboratory of Western Architecture Technology. Taking the advantage of the development of western part of China, the National Key Laboratory aims to build a sustainable development model forurban and rural construction in western part of China. Based on the researches in the western part of China, the laboratory suggests that an integration of discipline of architecture and construction in the western part of China could optimize the use of limited recourses. It also suggests that it is very important to educate local people with some new concepts, and to introduce the local construction science and technology.
