From Tan Yuan＇s Architectural Design Teaching to the Understanding of ＂the Beaux-Arts Method＂
Abstract：Tan Yuan＇s contribution to Chinese architectural education can be traced to his study experience in the University of Pennsylvania in 1920s.Through this case study,the paper helps getting a more concrete and deeper understanding on the American Beaux-Art education system and its transplantation to China,revealing that forming ＇a teachable architecture＇ is one of the key points of this architectural heritage.
