Abstract:Although traditional opioids remain first-line agents, they frequently cause opioid-related adverse events such as respiratory depression and postoperative nausea and vomiting.Oliceridine,a novel biased μ-opioid receptor agonist, preferentially activates the G-protein signaling pathway while down-regulating β-arrestin recruitment;theoretically, this mechanism preserves analgesic efficacy and lowers the incidence of opioid-related adverse events.A growing body of domestic and international studies has demonstrated that oliceridine is safe and effective during general anesthesia induction,patient-controlled postoperative analgesia, and anesthesia outside the operating room.It can partially replace conventional opioids, reduce their consumption, and provide a safer and more effective anesthetic regimen for surgical patients.
