Abstract:Perioperative neurocognitive disorder(PND)is a common cognitive impairment in elderly patients, encompassing preopera-tive cognitive dysfunction, postoperative delirium, delayed neurocognitive recovery and postoperative cognitive dysfunction. The occur-rence of PND is closely associated with inflammatory responses and oxidative stress. This article aims to systematically review the research progress on superoxide dismutase(SOD)in PND,particularly its role in elderly frail patients,to provide a reference for the prediction and diagnosis of PND.
