Abstract:Objective To explore the current status and influencing factors of emergence agitation(EA)during recovery period after general anesthesia in pediatric patients and provide reference for clinical application and decision-making.Methods A total of 486 chil-dren,including 52 females and 434 males, aged 3-12 years,ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ,having complete medical records, admitted to the recovery room after general anesthesia in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from September 2021 to June 2023 were selected by convenient sampling method.Indicators including with or without preoperative anxiety, operation name, use of anesthetics, duration of anesthesia, duration of operation, time to emergence and recovery time were sorted out.The modified Aldrete was used to eval-uate the anesthesia recovery phases after operation, and the Chinese version of the Cornell assessment of pediatric delirium(CAPD)was used to evaluate EA.The status and influencing factors of EA during recovery period after general anesthesia in pediatric patients were statistically analyzed. Results There were 138 cases of EA in 486 children receiving general anesthesia, and the incidence of EA was 28.4%.The results of single factor analysis showed that age, gender, preoperative anxiety,ASA classification, whether to use sevoflu-rane,whether to use midazolam, duration of anesthesia, time to emergence and recovery time were correlated with the occurrence of EA.Logistic regression analysis showed that age, time to emergence and recovery time were independent influencing factors of EA in children receiving general anesthesia, which could explain 39.4%of the dependent variation. Conclusion Age,time to emergence and recovery time are the main influencing factors of EA during recovery period after general anesthesia in pediatric patients. It is necessary to prevent and manage EA through comprehensive measures such as individualized anesthesia program, slow wake-up,postoperative analgesia and perioperative psychological support,so as to improve the safety and quality of anesthesia in pediatric patients.
