Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of midazolam combined with lidocaine cream in pediatric oral treatment. Methods A total of 100 pediatric dental patients with an average age of(6.93±1.31)years old,32 males,68 females,ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ,in Dalian Stomato-logical Hospital from September 2022 to September 2024 were selected and randomly divided into local anesthesia group(n=37),low-dose group(n=31)and high-dose group(n=32)according to random number table method. The local anesthesia group received place-bo+lidocaine cream+local anesthesia. The low-dose group was given 0.35 mg/kg midazolam oral solution+lidocaine cream+local anesthesia, and the high-dose group was given 0.5 mg/kg midazolam oral solution+lidocaine cream+local anesthesia. The behavioral scores,sedation-related response indicators, compliance, dental treatment completion rate, incidence of adverse reactions, and postopera-tive satisfaction of the three groups were compared. Results After treatment, compared with local anesthesia group,Frankl compliance scores were higher, behavior scores,MDAS scores,DFS scores and the incidence of adverse reactions(6.26%,3.23%)were lower in high-dose group and low-dose group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).During treatment, compared with local anesthe-sia group, behavioral scores, pharyngeal reflexes and VAS scores were lower, and Frankl compliance scores were higher in high-dose group and low-dose group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Midazolam oral solution combined with lidocaine cream can effectively reduce dental fear in pediatric patients, reduce sedation-related reactions in children with minor oral surgery, and lower the incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment of low-dose midazolam oral solution with lidocaine cream, and improve the compliance of children receiving dental procedures.
