Effects of remimazolam combined with sufentanil in patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the anesthetic effects of remimazolam combined with sufentanil in patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy(ERAT).Methods A total of 100 patients of either gender,aged 18-64 years,ASA Ⅰ-Ⅲ,BMI 18-30 kg/m2,undergoing ERAT in the Second People's Hospital of Yinchuan from May to August 2024,were randomly divided into two groups according to random number table method,remimazolam combined with sufentanil group(group R,n=50)and propofol combined with sufentanil group(group P,n=50).Patients in group R received intravenous injection of sufentanil 0.1 μg/kg followed by intravenous injection of remimazolam 0.15 mg/kg at 1200 mL/h,and the patients in group P received intravenous injection of sufentanil 0.1 μg/kg fol-lowed by intravenous injection of propofol 1％2.0 mg/kg at 1200 mL/h.Surgery was initiated when the patients'Modified Observer's Assessment of Alertness/Sedation score(MOAA/S score)was zero.Outcomes included sedation onset time,recovery time,satisfaction scores of doctors and patients,the supplementation rate of remimazolam and propofol,the occurrence of perioperative adverse events inclu-ding bradycardia,hypotension,respiratory depression and injection pain.Results Compared with group P,emergence time was signifi-cantly shorter(P＜0.05);patients'satisfaction scores were significantly higher(P＜0.05);and the incidence of hypotension(8.0％vs 48.0％),bradycardia(8.0％vs 48.0％),respiratory depression(0.0％vs 44.0％),and injection pain(0.0％vs 32.0％)was significantly decreased(P＜0.05)in Group R.There was no significant difference in the supplementation rate of remimazolam and propo-fol,physicians'satisfaction scores between two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Remimazolam combined with sufentanil demonstrates higher perioperative safety for ERAT,with more stable hemodynamics,fewer adverse effects and superior patients satisfaction,which can provide sedation efficacy comparable to propofol.
