Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness of situational simulation method based on the SimMan 3G simulator in anesthesia undergraduates eduaction. Methods Twenty-two anesthesia undergraduates who were interns at the Anesthesia Surgery Centre of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University in October 2023 were selected and randomly divided into the case teaching group(n=11)and simulation teaching group(n=11).The case teaching group was trained using case-based teaching method and the simula-tion teaching group was trained using the situational simulation teaching method based on SimMan 3G simulator, and both groups of trai-nees were trained on bronchospasm and medication errors. The theoretical test, skills assessment and teaching satisfaction assessment were conducted after the training, and the results of both groups were recorded and compared. Results The simulation teaching group demon-strated a statistically significant improvement in skills test:clinical thinking scores(17.2±2.6 vs 14.0±2.0)(P<0.05),clinical operation scores(17.7±2.6 vs 15.0±3.1)(P<0.05),teamwork scores(15.4±3.5 vs 12.2±2.6)(P<0.05),communication skills scores(14.4±3.5 vs 11.3±2.3)(P<0.05),response capability scores(12.7±2.6 vs 10.0±2.2)(P<0.05)and total scores(77.7±10.3 vs 62.7±9.0)(P<0.05)compared to the case teaching group. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups of trainees in terms of theoretical test scores and teaching satisfaction(P>0.05).Conclusion The situational simulation teaching method based on SimMan 3G simulator can better improve the practical ability and comprehensive clinical ability of anesthesia undergraduates in dealing with anesthesia crisis events.
