Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of the bidirectional feedback teaching model in enhancing the clinical competence of anes-thesiology residents. Methods Forty anesthesiology residents in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from Novem-ber 2023 to June 2024 were enrolled and randomly divided into the control group(n=20)and the experimental group(n=20),according to random number table method. The experimental group utilized a bidirectional feedback teaching model, while the control group followed traditional teaching methods.Observational indicators included final theoretical examination scores, comprehensive clinical competency as-sessment(encompassing pre-operative visits,pre-operative preparation, anesthetic techniques, intraoperative management, and communi-cation skills),and resident satisfaction(including timeliness, specificity, effectiveness of feedback, and its contribution to personal learning and development). Results The experimental group achieved significantly higher scores in both theoretical examination(86.50±5.20)and clinical competency assessment(50.80±3.20)compared to scores of the control group's,79.20±6.00 and 47.60±3.60 respectively, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).A student satisfaction survey indicated that the experimen-tal group was highly satisfied, with 83%expressing satisfaction with the timeliness of the feedback,77%with its pertinence,80%with its effectiveness, and 87%with how helpful it was for their personal learning and development. Conclusion The bidirectional feedback mechanism promote effective communication between teachers and students.Meanwhile, the case discussion teaching method can enhance students'clinical thinking and operational ability, the combined teaching model of bidirectional feedback mechanism and the case discus-sion teaching method significantly improve clinical competency among anesthesiology residents.
