Abstract:Postoperative shivering is a common complication of spinal anesthesia during cesarean section, causing significant physiological and psychological burden to parturients and affecting their postoperative recovery.Possible factors of postoperative shivering may include the type of anesthesia, ambient temperature, emotional stress, and surgical styles.Current research indicates that proactive measures such as the use of active warming systems, infusion of pre-warmed fluids, and harnessing the thermogenic effect of nutrients can effectively mitigate postoperative shivering.Pharmacological interventions stand as the primary approach to prevent shivering after spinal anesthesia for cesarean section, demonstrating substantial efficacy in clinical practice. This article reviews the influencing factors, preventive strategies for postoperative shivering after spinal anesthesia in cesarean section, aiming to provide guidance for clinical practice.
