Analysis of status on anesthesia medical service capacity construction of Guangxi province in 2023

Abstract：Objective To investigate of the status quo of anesthesia medical service capacity of Guangxi province and provide a reference for further improving anesthesia medical service capacity and promoting the development of the discipline.Methods Based on the Anesthesia Discipline Construction and Medical Service Capacity System of Guangxi Province in 2023 and the survey on the current status of anesthesia quality and safety in Guangxi province in 2015-2017,the data related to manpower resource,working spectrum and medical equipment of anesthesia were collected and analyzed in 2023 and 2017.The SPSS 26.0 software was used to analyze the data.Results There were a total 2565 operating rooms,3307 anesthetists,953 nurses in 321 hospitals in 2023.The ratio of anesthetist number/oper-ating room numbers was 1.3∶1,while the anesthetist/surgeon ratio was 1∶7.4.The nurse/anesthetist ratio was 0.3∶1.Compared with 2017,the proportion of anesthetists with a doctor degree(1.8％)and a master degree(17.7％)increased,while the proportion of bachelor degree was the same(66.0％),and the proportion of college degree and below(14.6％)decreased in 2023.The proportion of anesthetists with chief physician(4.6％)and deputy chief physician(25.2％)increased,while the proportion of attending physician(37.4％)and resident physician and below(32.7％)decreased in 2023.The nurse/anesthetist ratio increased in 2023.Compared with 2017,the proportion of gastroenteroscopic anesthesia,artificial abortion anesthesia,bronchoscopic anesthesia,interventional anesthesia,labor analgesia and anesthesia recovery room was higher in secondary and tertiary hospitals in 2023(P＜0.05).Compared with secondary hospitals,the proportion of gastroenteroscopic anesthesia,bronchoscopic anesthesia,interventional anesthesia,and anesthesia recovery room was higher in tertiary hospital in 2023(P＜0.05).Compared with secondary hospitals,the proportion of tertiary hospitals having anesthesi-ology intensive care units,anesthesia clinics,and ambulatory surgery centers/areas was higher in tertiary hospital in 2023(P＜0.05).Compared with 2017,the configuration ratio of ultrasound diagnostic equipment,ECG defibrillator monitor,autologous blood salvage equipment,anesthesia depth monitor,difficult airway trolley,fiberoptic bronchoscope,video laryngoscope,and anesthesia information system was higher in secondary and tertiary hospitals in 2023(P＜0.05).Conclusion By 2023,anesthesia medical service capacity of Guangxi province has been further improved,but relevant indicators have not yet reached the recommended standards of the national"Guidelines for Capacity-building for Medical Services of Anesthesiology",and construction still needs to be further strengthened.
