A study on the practical effect of setting up a pre-anesthesia room in the operating room

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of setting up a pre-anesthesia room in the operating room on operational efficiency.Methods The effect of setting up a pre-anesthesia room was explored from the following aspects,including establishment conditions,work flow,staff responsibilities,and practical results.Among them,the establishment conditions of the pre-anaesthesia room include the pre-anaesthesia room personnel,instrument and equipment setting requirements,working system and handover system;the workflow of the pre-anesthesia room refers to the workflow from the time the patients enters the pre-anesthesia room until they were transfered out of the room.Results Compared with the effect of two months before and after the establishment of the pre-anesthesia room,there were 504 pre-anesthetic patients and 678 pre-anaesthesia operations in July and August 2021 The total pre-anaesthesia time was 16,996 min,which saved 10,170 min of waiting time for patients.Doctors and nurses could go off duty 84 min earlier than before.Conclusion The establishment of pre-anesthesia room can effectively improve the operational efficiency,shorten the waiting time of patients,and help patients overcome anxiety and tension.
