The current status of anesthesiologists team construction in Hebei province

Abstract：Objective To explore the construction of the anesthesiologists team in Hebei Province.Methods A cluster sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on the anesthesia department directors of 329 public hospitals in Hebei Province using Questionnaire Star.The questionnaire includes the level of the hospital,the number of anesthesiologists,the education level of anesthesiologists,the ratio of the number of anesthesiologists to the number of operating rooms,the ratio of surgeons to anesthesiologists,the average annual opeartion volume of the hospital,and the working hours of anesthesiologists.Each person is limited to filling out the form once.Results There are 294 hospitals with fewer than 30 anesthesiologists,accounting for 88.75%.The ratio of anesthesiologists to operating rooms is mostly between 1-1.5:1,accounting for 44.7%,with only 5.1%of hospitals having an anesthesiologist to operating room ratio greater than 2:1.Approximately 50.2%of anesthesiologists have a weekly working hours of 40-50 per person.There are 267 hospitals(80.66%)in which less than 20%of anesthesiologists had graduate degree.Among them,there are 201 second level Grade A hospitals,accounting for 75.28%.Conclusion There's a great shortage of anesthesiologists in Hebei Province,and the quality of anesthesia professionals still needs to be further improved.
