Anesthesiologist's responsibility and obligation in regarding of enhanced recovery after surgery

Abstract:The concept of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) is gradually accepted by physicians.Nowadays, anesthesiology, which once was only a branch of surgical service, has become a comprehensive perioperative disciplinary practice.Its not only monitors of vital signs, takes care of intensive care unit patients, but also manages pain practice and develops into one subspecialty.The advancement of anesthesiology in recent years has transitioned to a part of perioperative medicine.Although anesthesiologists play an important role in the perioperative period, clinical implementation of ERAS still faces challenges.This paper summarizes the anesthesiologist's significance in advocating ERAS and forming a perioperative model regarding anesthesiologists as the leader;to enhance the wide acceptance of ERAS and to benefit more patients.
