Abstract：The advancement of anesthesiology has demanded our subspecialty to transition to perioperative medicine.It is essential for anesthesiologists to master the skill of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for perioperative monitoring and diagnosis.Multiple subspecialties have established or started to implement the formal echocardiogaphy training programs.To be fully competent in the perioperative TEE technique and provide reliable information for perioperative management, the anesthesiologist must obtain the basic knowledge and operational skills of TEE.It is necessary for our subspecialty to establish a strategic, systematic and standardized training program.It is imperative to ensure high quality and effectiveness of TEE training within our specialty.All trainees must meet the credentials of the perioperative TEE examination, which will improve the quality of anesthesia care and patient safety.
