Abstract:Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by overactivation of B cells to produce pathogenic autoantibodies, thereby reducing autoantibodies production represents a way of treating SLE disorders. Follicular T helper cells (Tfh) are a subset of CD4+ T cells, which provide help to B cells to differentiate into long-lived plasma cells to produce anti-nuclear autoantibodies to promote SLE disease. In the paper, we provide an review of Tfh cells involved in the development of SLE disease, factors involved in the formation of Tfh cell and Tfh cell as a potent therapeutic target of SLE.
