Abstract:Exosomes,a kind of nanometric membrane-bound vesicles, play an important role in intercellular communication.Abundant experiments have demonstrated that tumor-derived exosomes (TEXs) can carry immunosuppressive molecules and genetic messages, and mediate communication between cancer cells and immune cells (DCs,NK cells,Myeloid-derived suppressor cells, macrophages,T cells and B cells) to interfere with maturation and antitumor response of immune cells, then promote tumor escape and cancer progression. Moreover, some immune cell-derived exosomes also involve in this tumor-promoting process. In this review,we mainly focus on the characteristics of exosomes and immune suppressive mechanisms mediated by exosomes in tumor microenvironment, and discuss on the crucial role of exsomes in cancer progression.
