Abstract:This study was designed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine Shengjiang San in correcting the immune dysfunction of sepsis and improving the symptoms of patients.Total of 53 patients with sepsis hospitalized from June 2014 to June 2016 in the workers' hospital of ningxia hui autonomous region were recruited and divided into observation group (n=28) and control group (n=25),according to the parity of admission numbers.Beside the basic treatment of rutting western medicine, the observation group was treated with Shengjiang San,and the control group was given physiological saline. And then, the clinical outcomes of the two groups were observed in the first, third and seventh days after treatment.Compared with the control group, the observation group demonstrated significantly increased levels of CD4+ T cell count,CD8 + T cell count and mHLADR expression (P< 0.05) on the 7th day after the drug administration.Furthermore, monocyte function analysis showed that patients in observation group on day 3 and day 7 post-administration demonstrated higher levels of IL-6 and TNF alpha (P< 0.05),while lower level of IL-10 on day 7 (P<0.05),as compared with control group. The ICU duration,APACHE Ⅱ score,Marshall score and vasopressin usage of patients in observation group were significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.05).In conclusion, the Chinese medicine Shengjiang San can correct cellular immunity in patients with sepsis and can be used as a promising treatment for sepsis.
