Abstract:Sepsis, characterized with high mortality and high treatment cost, become a serious threat to human health.Immune imbalance plays an important role in the development of sepsis, however immunosuppression in sepsis and molecular mechanism remains unclear.Recent studies suggested that IL-33,a new member of IL-1 family, and its receptor ST2 are new immune regulatory factors in the development of sepsis. This article will provide a review and summary on the roles of IL-33 and ST2 in sepsis development.
