Abstract：Interleukin-25 (IL-25),mostly known as IL-17E,is a novel member of IL-17 cytokine family.IL-25 has unique structure and function.Previous research indicated that IL-25 is involved in T helper type 2 (Th2) responses.However,recent studies have shown that IL-25 potentially participates in the development of inflammation and autoimmune disease.Better understanding the role of IL-25 will provide a promising target for the treatment of these diseases and can be exploited rationally in clinic practice.
