Abstract:To explore the TIM4 protein levels in patients with T2DM and its roles in the pathogenesis of T2DM,blood samples were collected from 50 patients with T2DM and 45 controls in Zibo central Hospital.FCM assay was used to detect the levels of TIM4 in monocytes, while ELISA method was applied to measure the soluble TIM4 levels in serum.Meanwhile, the correlation between TIM4 and IL-1β were analyzed.Data showed that the soluble TIM4 were increased in serum from the pateints compared with controls(P<0.001).Meanwhile,the TIM4 in monocytes from T2DM patients were increased as well (P=0.01).More interestingly, the TIM4 levels were negatively correlated with IL-1β (P=0.003 6,r=-0.404 5).Furthermore,the TIM4 levels in monocytes from pateints were decreased after treatment (P=0.002).All the results indicated that TIM4 particepates in the process of T2DM,thus provide a novel target for early diagnosis and treatment of T2DM.
