Kv1.3 channel blockers and T/B lymphocytes-mediated autoimmune diseases
Abstract:It is commonly believed that T and B lymphocytes play significant roles in the process of immunoregulation. Autoimmune is caused by immunologic regulation under the disordered situation, also it has been proved that the changing expression of Kv1.3 channel on the surface of T and B lymphocyte subtypes have subtle relationship with autoimmune diseases. The specific Kv1.3 channel blockers can bind with the Kv1.3 channel, and mediate cell factors and its interrelated signaling pathway, thus play important roles on the proliferation of lymphocytes and hold back the development of these diseases. Compared with the traditional therapeutic methods, the blockers have several advantages, such as high specificity and less side effect. These discoveries have remarkable significance in several aspects of the autoimmune diseases studying, such as the pathological mechanism, early diagnosis, and new drugs finding.
