Progress in mechanism of bacteria pathogen entry into host cells

Abstract:Infectious diseases are major threats to human and animal health.A key to understanding infectious disease is studying how bacterial pathogents subvert host-ceIl pathways.During long evolution,gram-negative bacteria have evolved several secretlon pathways tohijackhost cells, including general secretaly pathway(GSP),typeI pathway, type Ⅱ pathway, type Ⅲ pathway, typeIV pathway. These pathogents usually exploit the host-cell cytoskeleton, disorder key signaling pathways, evade or subvert the host lmmune response. In this review,we provide an overview of the understanding of the secretion pathways for bacterial virulence, together with the current understand-ing of how bacterial pathogens interact with host cells and how the pathogens subvert the structure and function ot the ceus.
