Supercritical Thickness Coal Mining Technology and Equipment
Abstract：Coal is the main energy source in China, playing a vital role in ensuring national energy security and promoting economic and social development. In 2024, China's coal production reached 4.78 billion tons, with Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Xinjiang accounting for 81.7%. The output from Yulin, Shaanxi, and Ordos, Inner Mongolia, accounts for about 30%, which is particularly important for ensuring China's coal supply. Thick and super-thick coal seams are the main coal seams for high-efficiency and high-productivity mining in China's coal mines, accounting for more than 45% of reserves. Coal seams over 8 meters thick are widely distributed, especially in the main coal-producing areas in western China, where super-thick coal seams are abundant. Currently, there are 81 coal mines with an annual production of 10 million tons, and more than 90% of them are located in the western region, with the main coal seams being thick and super-thick coal seams.
