Effect of ionic liquids with imidazolium based cations substituted by different oxygen-containing groups on coal oxidation
Abstract:Aiming to study the inhibiting oxidation effect of ionic liquid (IL) on coal, this study used two ionic liquids with imidazolium based cations substituted by different oxygen-containing groups, [ AOEmim ] BF4 and [ HOEmim ] BF4, to dissolve coal. The dissolving ability of the two ionic liquids for functional group in coal was studied by In-Situ Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (In-Situ FTIR). The results show that the ionic liquid can dissolve coal and react with coal by complexion formation and create earboxyl. According to the thermo analysis experiment results, the [ AOEmim] BF4-pretrreated coal releases heat more quickly than the [ HOEmim ~ BF4 -pretreated coal does before 250 ℃. After 250 ℃, the exothermic rates of the two pretreated coal samples both reduce sharply. The exothermie rate of[ HOEmim] BF4 pretreated coal reduces more earlier than that of[ AOEmim] BF4 pretreated one. Synthesizing the FTIR and DSC results, the mechanism of interaction between the [ HOEmim] BF4 and coal was analyzed.
