Research on microcosmic characteristics of fly-ash from circulating fluidized bed boilers
Abstract:The experiments were carried for fly-ash with different sizes in diameter by nitrogen adsorption, mercury porosimetry and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The microcosmic characteristics for different fly-ash in particle sizes were studied. The results show that there is a peak feature between particle sizes and their carbon contents. The adsorption isotherms approximately belong to the second type. The pores of the fly-ash are three categories:tapered pore,parallel-plate slit pore and ink-bottle shaped pore. The pore distribution is widely enough without the existence of 2 nm in diameter. The pore size distribution for fly-ash is between several and ten thousand nanometers, and the most probable pore diameter is less than 100 nm in diameter. The specific volume consists of the pores whose diameters are greater than 100 nm,especially 1 000 nm,and the specific surface area are composed of pores less than 100 nm in diameter.
