Study on characteristic of stress field in surrounding rocks of shallow coalface under long wall mining
Abstract：The features of stress field of surrounding rocks through on-site observation and numerical modeling was studied.The conclusions indicate that whether the pressure arch structure can form in the overburden or be stable are the key factor on shallow coal seam definition.The studies of the influence of cutting height and face length on stability of the pressure arch structure were done.The results show that the critical height of ＂pressure arch＂ overburden structure can be different under the mining condition of different mining height and different face length.When the mining height reaches a certain value,the ＂pressure arch＂ structure can not form in overlying rock.The face length plays a greater impact on overburden structure stability too.But after the face length reaches a certain value,the increase of face length can not make greater impact on structure stability.
