Experimental investigation of flow uniformity in a thermal reverse-flow reactor
Abstract:The internal flow uniformity of ceramic bed in a thermal reverse-flow reactor was studied experimentally, then the mathematical model of the flow resistance was established, and the mechanism of fluid mechanics was analyzed. The results show that the velocity distribution in ceramic bed is non-uniform and the uniformity index decreases with the flow rate increasing. The flow impetus in ceramic bed is provided by pressure difference between upper and lower header,so the static pressure distribution in upper and lower header is closely related to flow uniformity of the ceramic bed.As for the flow rate increases, the role of momentum exchange and friction loss on static pressure changes strengthens,so the difference between the pressure drops of inner and outer sides becomes larger and the flow is more uneven in the ceramic bed.
