Laws of floor breaking in coal mining face and gas extraction application

Abstract：In order to master the laws of gas emission through floors from lower adjacent seam, discussed the effect of working face mining on floor, and considered face advance and forming process of the mined-out area made redistribution of stress distribution around mining stope, and caused the stress increasing zone and the stress decreasing zone appeared in a certain range of coal body. Floor rock may shift differently in abutment pressure, undergo shear deformation and damage in shear,produce cracking of separated strata and vertical fracture ,and cause gas pour into mining layer.The destroy range of floor was calculated and limit depth formula of floor damage was given. Hereby, low drilling in floor was arranged for gas extraction in engineering practice and a good effect was realized.
