Abstract:Based on dry contact model of soft-sphere, sieving process of particles on linear vibrating screen plate was simulated using 3D Discrete Element Method (DEM). And the effects of amplitude, vibration intensity, vibrating direc-tion angle and slope angle of screen plate on the average velocity and dynamic screening efficiency of particles were discussed. The results show that motion state of the particles on the screen plate has great randomness. The relation-ships between particles average velocity of steady state and amplitude, vibration intensity and slope angle of screen plate are linear, while that is nonlinear with vibrating direction angle. When vibrating direction angle is 45°, average velocity of particles reaches the maximum. During sieving process, screening efficiency of particles is dynamically changing which will increase as amplitude or vibration intensity increased. But when vibration intensity is increased to 3.3 ,the efficiency will be decreased. Vibrating direction angle has a less effect on screening efficiency which will de-crease with the increment of slope angle of screen plate.
