Abstract:According to the acoustic travel time equation, used the Schwarz inequality, theory of probability tomography was deduced. Thus, acoustic probability tomography, which was a new interpretation for the array acoustic logging, was developed. This method is non-iterative, do not need to solve the large-scale sparse matrix of acoustic imaging, so it has small computation cost, and advantages of simple, efficient, no priori information, etc. After anomaly of acoustic travel-time was extracted, scanning function was introduced, and function of probability tomography was defined as the nor-malized cross-correlation computation of observed field and scanning function. Scanning function was used to scan the whole observed space, and values of probability tomography, whose contour described the distribution of anomalous bodies, was computed. Synthetic examples of single abnormal body and two abnormal bodies in array sonic log show that this method is practicable.
