Abstract：Discussed the detailed detection method of abandoned workings on strong interference area using ground penetrating radar(GPR) technology. On the principle of GPR, analyzed the feasibility of hazard abandoned workings detection ,displayed corresponding characteristics of radar reflection wave in abandoned workings, and analyzed the types of interference and proposed the working method, data processing and interpretation for suppressing strong elec-tromagnetic interference. Combined with the analysis of concrete detecting example,proved the feasibility of suppress-ing method for strong electromagnetic interference, and the detecting result was verified by drilling with desirable geo-logical effect. The research shows that, in the area of strong electromagnetic interference, the detailed detection of haz-ard abandoned workings by GPR can be realized by using feasible technical method to suppressing interference.
