Roof structure and control in the lower seam mining field in the ultra-close multiple seams

Abstract：In order to develop quantitative technique of the roof control, in accordance with the roof structure character-istic of the lower seam mining in the ultra-close multiple seams, the "loosen-blocky" roof structure model was con-structed. The stability of the lower immediately roof structure was analyzed in the lower seam mining in the ultra-close multiple seams by the loosen and blocky theory, the roof falling mechanism was expounded in the lower seam mining. The roof structure of the lower seam and the support load in workface were regarded as object of study, the support load in workface was researched by mechanics, the confirmed method of support load was obtained. On the basis of the above achievements, the ultra-close multiple seams of Datong mining area was regarded as object of study, the objectiv-ity and practicability of this method were made further demonstration by on-site practical measurement.
