Study of indentation resistance of conveyor belt

Abstract：Based on the theory of energy consumption of viscoelastic material under dynamic loading, the theoretical study of energy consumption mechanism of conveyor indentation resistance was carried out using a solid model of three parameter of the belt backing material, and theoretical formulae of indentation resistance coefficient to motion of a conveyor belt over idlers were derived. And the indentation resistance of rubber conveyor belt was studied by the experiment. The result shows that it is consistant that the effect law of various factors on indentation resistance with the theoretical result, and the correctness of formula is verified. It is primarily the viscoelasticity of belt that cause the indentation resistance of belt conveyor.
