Abstract:; In pH =2. 97, pH =6. 97 and pH =9. 98 type coal mine water and 5% NaCl solution, the performance of corrosion and abrasion of HVOF (high velocity oxygen fuel) spray 316L stainless steel coating on mine shaft steel guide surface were investigated. Corrosive potential and EIS (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) of the coatings were measured by mean of the electrochemistry system, friction coefficient using the MM - 2000 tester, oxidation damage based on the X-ray diffraction experiments, and wear appearance by SEM. The results show that corrosive potential of the 316L stainless steel coating increase 300 mV. The corrosive rate is controlled by ion dif-fuseness in 5%NaCl and pH =2. 97 solution, while by charge transfer in pH =6. 97 and pH =9. 98 solution. The X-ray diffraction results show also that 316L stainless steel powders are low oxidation in HVOF spray process and the spray coating contents are γ - ( Fe, Ni) and γ - ( Fe, Cr). The friction coefficient are decreased with load for the spray coating. The corrosive and abrasive surface appearant the micro adhesion wearing mechanism.
