Numerical simulation of combustion in the industial pulverized-coal boiler

Abstract：The software FIuent was used to simulate the coal powder combustion in three-dimension for the better performance of the boiler.The non-premixed combustion model and the P-1 radiation model were employed to simulate the chemical reaction and heat transfer respectively.The gas phase transportation was simulated by the Re-alizable κ-ε turbu]ence model while particle phase used the stochastic model.The distribution of the temperature in the fumace is agreement with the measured values.The simulation results show that it can get a better distribu-tion of the temperature in the furnace by reducing the load of the boiler.
