Abstract:The relation between porosity and impedance was derived from Wyllie time-average equation, the applicable conditions of impedance inversion was compared via analyzing impedance inversion principles, then the application example was given. The results show that recursive inversion is used to obtain impedance in mining area for logging data shortage and the aquifer thickness above a quarter seismic wavelengths, the impedance bases on seismic data with relative amplitude and correctly migration imaging correctly reflects the layer' s relative porosity changes. The logging constrained inversion is used to obtain impedance in mining area for logging data rich; the impedance comprehensive utilizing high-resolution vertical log data and high-density horizontal seismic data correctly reflects the porosity distribution of the thin layer. The porosity is monotone decreasing when impedance increasing.
