The theoretical study on loss rate of top coal and quantitative characteristics of piled waste

Abstract：Aimed at the situation of serious loss of top coal in caving, the factors of top coal loss rate were analyzed. Studied the relationship between the loss rate of top coal and quantitative characteristics of piled waste. The results show that there are two accumulation state of falling top coal; "triangle" and "quadrilateral" state, and the criterion is given. The relationship between loss rate of top coal and waste piled height was drawn using mathematical methods, the accumulation of angle, the gap in the "triangle", "quadrilateral" state of falling top coal was drawn. Based on this results, the loss rate of caving procedure can be estimated.
