Abstract:The caustic washing process using aqueous NaOH solution to extract phenolics from IBP~280℃ distillate of direct coal liquefaction product oil was studied systematically. Two key parameters, the minimum alkali/oil weight ratio 0. 08 and the optimal water/oil weight ratio 0. 6~1. 2, in the process were determined. The effect of major factors, including extraction temperature, the concentration of the alkali solution and extraction time, on phenolic extraction rate (PER) was investigated respectively. Through the orthogonal experiment, the significance of the factors was determined as extraction temperature>the concentration of the alkali solution> extraction time. The optimal caustic washing conditions in experimental measurement are 40℃, 10% alkali solution, and extraction time of 5 min.
